This is the Sequel (10 years later) to Sick Day for Amos McGee— one of the best picture books of all time, and a return to the world of care and kindness.  Amos is a very punctual, somewhat rigid, zookeeper who always— always— takes the No.5 bus to work at 6am. At the City Zoo he visits his friends: the elephant, the tortoise, the penguin, the rhinoceros and the owl. 

 

Amos is up too late planning an exciting outing for his friends at the zoo. He oversleeps and misses the bus to work. Because he arrives late, he doesn't know if he'll have time to finish all his chores in time for the adventure he's planned.
